For more than 35 years, the Firestones—owners of Curtis Winery—have been faithful stewards of their land in Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley. Founder Brooks Firestone is a longtime advocate of native oak tree regeneration, and has personally planted more than 2,000 new oaks over the decades. At Curtis Winery, the Firestone family and winemaker Chuck Carlson take a progressive approach to viticulture, incorporating sustainable farming practices wherever possible to grow naturally balanced vines while respecting the surrounding environment.
The character of the vineyard is ultimately what we aim to put in the bottle—a pure sense of place that reflects the specific origins of the wine. Accordingly, our wines come from our own estate vineyards as well as select local vineyards that boast remarkable conditions for Rhône varietals.
Our specialties are Syrah, Grenache, Viognier and Roussanne, which we complement with a trio of lively blends. Under the guidance of Winemaker Chuck “Calypso” Carlson, we craft our wines in a fruit-forward style, with an emphasis on capturing the pure natural flavors of the vineyard and the vintage.
We invite you to uncork our wine or visit our tasting room to discover the Rhône difference for yourself.
